Recently established Water Safety USA, a consortium of 13 national governmental and nongovernmental organizations, is excited to announce the group’s primary safety message for 2016; ‘Water Safety: it’s learning to swim and so much more.’

Water Safety USA Launches

Water Safety USA, recently established by a consortium of national governmental and nongovernmental organizations concerned with water safety and drowning prevention, aims to empower people with resources, information and tools to more safely enjoy and benefit from our nation’s aquatic environments. Water Safety USA will work to align safety advice from member organizations and magnify the reach of that advice in an effort to collaboratively improve water safety.

National Safe Boating Council Announce 406Day Media Contest Winners

With the help of many contributing organizations and engaged boaters nationwide, this year’s #406Day helped promote the important “Saved by the Beacon” message, educating boaters about the importance of registering and carrying an emergency locator beacon.

2016 Water and Boating Safety Media Campaign Contest Winners Announced

The 2016 International Boating and Water Safety Summit (IBWSS), held in San Diego, CA, closed its final day of sessions with the announcement of this year’s Media Campaign Contest winners. In total, over 30 submissions were reviewed by the judging panel.
The 2016 IBWSS Media Contest was hosted by the National Safe Boating Council, National Water Safety Congress (NWSC), and the National Association of State Boating Law Administrations (NASBLA) to showcase the outreach efforts of organizations, agencies, and groups in the realm of boating and water safety.

The National Safe Boating Council Honors ACR Electronics with the Horizon Award

The National Safe Boating Council (NSBC) is proud to announce Sustaining Member ACR Electronics, Inc. (ACR) as the recipient of the 2015 Horizon Award. ACR received a brass mariner’s telescope at the Congressional Reception held May 13, 2015 at the Rayburn House Office Building in Washington, DC. ACR was commended for their support of NSBC’s Saved by the Beacon National Campaign, which is designed to educate recreational boaters about the importance of 406 MHz beacons and how to use them correctly in the case of a boating emergency.
